Definition
The crown condition is assessed in terms of defoliation. This parameter describes the lack lof foliage for each sample tree (UNECE/EC, 2002) in comparison with a reference standard/tree. The extent of visually assessed defoliation of trees is estimated according to the method, as developed by the International Co-operative Programme on Assessment and Monitoring of Air Pollution Effects on Forests (ICP Forests, 2010) of the Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution
