Project Report: Assistance to the development of a National Forest Program

The NFP is an intersectoral program that provides strategic directions for the development of the forest sector, in harmony with other sectors of the national economy. It includes the consultation and participation of all interest groups related "directly or indirectly" to the forest sector. The NFP also aims to establish a social and political framework for the conservation, management and sustainable development of all types of forests, in order to enhance the effectiveness of the operational and financial commitments of the public and private sectors. This process produced a guidance document in 2004. It is currently operating in Luxembourg on an informal basis.
