The purpose of mapping forest locations is to determine the growth conditions of trees in the forest according to the type of soil, the topographic situation and the climate. It produces a map with a catalog of forest location types, accompanied by proposals for the selection of species. Indeed, one of the most important aspects of near-natural silviculture is the respect of the stationary aptitude of the species used. This document in French explains the methodology applied.
