The report gives a comprehensive description of the development, design and results of the Second Lithuanian National Forest Inventory. The results of NFI in 2003-2007 are important from the viewpoint that for the first time in Lithuanian forest inventory practice gross volume increment, the extent of cuttings, the volume of removable and dead trees on the country level were estimated by direct measurements ... .The obtained data allowed not only to continue a series of reliable statistics on Lithuanian forests, but also to provide important parameters for control forestry, as well as to estimage the efficiency of the main silvicultural measures and forest uses.
