Forest and Forest Ecosystem Condition Survey(FECS) took place in 2007 and 2012. The term NATIONAL FOREST INVENTORY is not mentioned in legislation. In year 2000 the ICP 4x4 km forest health monitoring system was upgraded with additional concentric permanent sampling plotsand variables measured.
Parallel to the FECS the Slovenian Forest Service performs an inventory for forest management plans: Stand-wise inventory with permanent sampling plots, 10 % visited every year.
