Afforestation and Restoration Ecology in the Maltese islands

The scope for tree planting in the country is the subject of this Outline Strategy. While there have been several afforestation initiatives in the Maltese Islands over the years, there has not yet been a consolidated national effort to extend the coverage of wooded areas in a coordinated and systematic manner for both conservation and social ends. This Outline Strategy is thus intended to provide the basis for such a national afforestation and ecological restoration project.
